Nuuksio Classic trail running weekend is not only running.
On Saturday at 16.30 one of the strongest ultra runner women in Finland, Anna Marin tells about here performance in the longest course of Andorra Ultra, Ronda dels Cims. Anna run her first trail run in the Alps in 2009. In the Andorra event with 170k distance and 13 500m of climb, she was the fourth in women’s category.
17.00 Henri Ansio talks about his first trail marathon in Pyhä Tunturimaraton 2014. This was when he got a spark for trail running. After 2014, he has beaten many course records in trail runs and made his marathon pb on road, 2.33.29.
At 16.00 and 17.30, the the only elite ski mountaineer in Finland, Joonas Kortelainen, who has also shown strong performances in trail runs, introduces the sport of ski mountaineering. His main goals next winter are the French ski mountaineering cup and promoting ski mountaineering as competitive sports in Finland. Ski mountaineering fits perfectly for everyone who enjoys alpine skiing, ski touring and exercising in the nature. Ski mountaineering is an excellent form of winter training for trail runners. At Salomon booth it will be possible to have a look at ski mountaineering equipment: skis, bindings, boots and skins.
Partner booths are open on Saturday all day. At least Suunto, Salomon, Buff, ZeroPoint, SealSkinz and High5 will be present. Suunto experts are presenting the brand new Suunto Spartan watch in the finish area at 17–18.30.
In the evening, the celebration of the 5th Nuuksio Classic starts at 19, hosted by Kristoffer Ignatius. We will once more cheer up the fastest runners of the day in the prize giving ceremony. Live music, a trail runnig quiz with prizes, and some surprise gigs will be part of the evening. Photos and videos from the day will recap the best memories of the day.
The drink list in the bar has some special recipies: the names Suolikas, Soidinsuo and Solvalla Climb are taken from specific spots along the course but what are they made of when in a glass? If the trail runners show enough endurance, the bar will be oben to early Sunday.
