Nuuksio Classic has already more than 600 runners on the starting list and the registration activity is high before the entry fee increase on June 14. In early June, 160 runners have signed up to Nuuksio70 Trail Ultralla to test their endurance on one of the few trail ultras in Southern Finland. The overall capacity of the event is 750 runners, out of which the ultra distance is up to 200.<\/p>\n

It looks like men’s Nuuksio70 race is getting very interesting. Last year’s winner Juuso Simpanen will have strong challengers and the level on the top will be very high in Finnish standards. Tomi Mikkola, a member of the Finnish team in Trail World Championships is one of the favorites with Toni Valido, who just did his personal best on Helsinki Half Marathon with excellent 1:13:38.<\/p>\n

The latest top name on Nuuksio70 starting list is Tero Ruokolainen who recently set a new course record for NUTS Karhunkierros 80km. He told that he got a good feeling about Nuuksio when writing his Karhunkierros race report and decided to give a go for his first ever visit to Nuuksio. Welcome Tero!<\/p>\n

To encourage top runners to train well during the summer, we remind of the good prizes: In addition to product prize, marathon and ultra winners will receive a 300\u20ac stipend to cover sports related costs. A new course record will be rewarded with an additional 200\u20ac stipend. As the ultra distance is in program for the second time, meaning that this is the first year when setting a new course record is possible.<\/p>\n

For all runners dreaming of UTMB, we remind that finishing Nuuksio Classic Trail Marathon will be awarded with two UTMB points and a successful Nuuksio70 finish with four points.<\/p>\n

The lowest entry fee level continues until 13.6.2018.<\/p>\n
