The Finnish government has limited the size of organized events to max 500 people until the end of June. Even events smaller than this must prepare with special safety measures to minimize spreading the virus.
Nuuksio Classic is preparing this year’s event with the assumption that the restriction of 500 people is still enforced in September. Therefore, we have set the total amount of starting slots to 550. Out of these, 150+ participants will run Nuuksio70 Trail Ultra that starts four hours before the marathon.
Eith the usual 15% no-show rate, we are confident that this will keep the total amount of people in the event center clearly below 500 at any time of the day including race staff, audience and hotel personnel.
This means that the marathon distance and Nuuksio70 ultra are now full. There are still a nice number of Mini Maraton starting slots available. For those adults who still are looking for a starting slot, there are two opportunities:
Registered participants who are not going to run are offering their starting slots on the event’s Facebook page. The post is pinned to the top of the wall. There will be tens of cancellations before the event.
If the corona situation gets better and restrictions are called off, we will re-activate the original plan of 700 participants and open the registration again. We will inform in our social media channels and on this website if this becomes possible.
