Happy new year on trails to all our trail running friends! The season just continues in Nuuksio, so let’s not regret the thin snow cover but go out and have a few nice trail sessions on these short mid winter days.
In fact, the whole year 2014 seems very interesting for trail runners in Finland. Keep reading to know more.
Nuuksio Classic 2014 date change
Unlike previously informed, the 2014 event date is Saturday 6.9. We had to postpone by one week due to a double booking in the event center. We are sorry if this makes your calendar planning more difficult but unfortunately the original date was not available.
Nuuksio Classic 2014 registration
The registration will open on Sunday March 9 at 18.00 Finnish time. We are doing our best to accommodate a few more participants than last year’s maximum of 400. However, it is to be expected that the race will sell out quite soon. So if you intend to participate, don’t wait too for long signing in.
Bodom Trail – A new, shorter trail race in Espoo
We are also organizing a new event called Bodom Trail in Pirttimäki recreational forest in Espoo, near Nuuksio national park. It will be a nice first trail running experience but suits also the most seasoned trail runners. The specialty of the event is that you can decide during the race if you finish after 12 or 21km. There will also be a 6km distance on easy trails. Registration to 6km is free for juniors born 1998 or later.
The preliminary date is Thursday 29.5. (Ascension Day). This will be confirmed as soon as Helsinki City approves our application for using the terrain. We will also announce the registration start after that. Read more at bodomtrail.com. To stay informed, join the Facebook group or subscribe a separate newsletter on the event web page.

Trail Tour Finland
It is probably time to start spreading a rumor: The six events mentioned above will form the Trail Tour Finland whose winner will be the toughest trail runner of the year in Finland. We will also find out how many people do several races. Will there be a runner who can do all six? More information to follow soon.
